Romans 10:9
Romans 10:9 declares “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Based on this verse and others in the Bible, knowing God is as simple as ABC:
Admit you are a sinner and have made mistakes.
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all mankind, because all sinned (Romans 5:12 NASB)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23 NKJV)
Believe that Jesus is God’s Son who died on the cross for you and rose up from the grave on the third day. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believed in His Name. (John 1:12 NKJV)
Confess Jesus as the Lord of your life, and commit yourself to a life of following Jesus and serving others.
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvations. (Romans 10:9-10)
Here is a simple sinner’s prayer that you can pray to know God:
“Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and take control of my life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’s name, Amen.”
If you have prayed to God this way and meant it, you are a Christian. You might not feel any different, but the gospel is about facts not feelings. If you have put your faith in Christ, then you have been forgiven and He has come into your life.
